The Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in order to promote the goals of the UN Agenda for Sustainable Development until 2030, encourage innovation, as well as support the implementation of the "Azerbaijan 2020: Vision of the Future" Development Concept and the "Strategic Roadmap for the production of consumer goods at the level of small and medium enterprises" Announces the Innovation Competition jointly with the Azerbaijan Delegation of the United Nations.

Projects covering the following areas and reflecting innovative ideas are accepted for the competition:

Economic:

• innovative start-up;
• the best innovative business incubators;
• innovative production methods;
• scientific and high-tech equipment and new mechanisms in this field;
• efficient science-intensive production and consumption models;
• less capital-intensive infrastructure;
• the mechanism of increasing technical capabilities with the application of nanotechnologies in the industrial field;
• nanomaterials and nanotechnologies.

Social:

• innovative social services;
• health, education and food security;
• active public programs to involve all groups of society;
• protection of cultural and natural heritage;
• settlement planning and management;
• urbanization;
• innovative activity in the field of tourism;

Ecological:

• green economy;
• application of clean and environmentally friendly technologies;
• efficient and ecological use of food waste;
• energy efficiency and use of alternative energy sources;
• effective local climate change planning and management;
• marine and coastal ecosystems;
• terrestrial and inland freshwater ecosystems;
• protection, restoration and sustainable use of forests;
• conservation of biodiversity.

Requirements for the project submitted to the competition:

• Technical and economic justified;
• Perspective of innovative projects;
• Prioritization of fields;
• Economic efficiency;
• Feasibility of implementation.
• Deadline for submission of projects.

Candidates who want to participate in the competition should send their projects and a copy of the identity document directly to the Ministry of Economy (Baku city, Uzeyir Hajibeyli street, 84, Government House) or by e-mail (narmin.babayeva@economy.gov.az) by December 5, 2017.

It is also possible to present the projects through the "Idea Bank" platform, which is a project of the State Agency for Service to Citizens and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan. For this, it is necessary to register on the website www.ideyabanki.com and submit the project by selecting the "2017-Innovations" competition.

The winners of the competition will be awarded:

• First place - 3,000 manats;
• Second place - 2,000 manats;
• Third place - 1,000 manats.

In order to implement and implement approved projects within the framework of the competition, the Commission will support the promotion of various state institutions, organizations and business entities.
